Kindergarten Overview

   General Overview

We have a reading program that is really fantastic.  We incorporate all the early literacy skills so that our children will prepared for first grade.  We will learn:

• print goes from left to right.

• there are spaces between words

• that words are groups of letters

• the letters and sounds

• some basic high frequency (sight) words

• write words by the sounds we hear

In our math program we will learn:

• shapes                                           

• numbers                                      

• patterns

• time (on the hour)

• money (recognize coins and know value)
