My Educational Philosophy: Parent's Version
I am the daughter of a master pre-school teacher. I grew up with tracing letters for bulletin boards and creating flannel figures for fingerplays. I always knew that teaching young children was what I wanted to do. As I entered college, I became even more excited about early childhood education. Birth to age six is truly a magical time when intelligence is formed. The attitudes about formal schooling will be constructed this year- in Kindergarten!
I love working with young children. I set up a safe and caring classroom where your child will learn how to solve problems, express feelings and use self-control.
I appreciate the differences in children. The curriculum this year will be tailored to them- their needs and their interests. Learning will be presented in a meaningful way and at differing levels so that all children in all developmental levels will experience success.
I have a discipline plan that teaches responsibility. I define clear limits and consequences. Your child will use language to become a problem solver.
I will communicate my dedication to each child through love, gentleness and patience. I expect a wonderful year filled with laughter and discovery.
