GINGER ROBINSON
Hi! My name is Ginger Robinson, and I am the kindergarten counselor at Marvin Elementary! This is my third year at Marvin, and my 10th year with Waxahachie I.S.D. I began working with the Waxahachie school district in the Ellis County School Age Parent Program on the High School campus in 1996, as the Program Social Worker, where I taught parenting classes and assisted school age parents in obtaining social services. I grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas and attended Elementary, Jr. High and High School in the small town of Holliday, Texas, which is located 14 miles outside of Wichita Falls. I graduated from Holliday High School in 1986 in a senior class size of 32 people. After attending Wayland Baptist University for one year on a basketball scholarship, I graduated from Midwestern State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Social Work. After college I moved to Arlington, Texas where I taught pre-school for 2 1/2 years. I then became an International Flight Attendant for 3 years with American Airlines, and lived in Chicago and New York, before I decided to come back to my real love of Social Work and working with children. I was employed by a battered women's shelter in Arlington, Texas for 2 years, as a social worker. I worked with the High School and Elementary age children who were living in the shelter. In 1997, I earned my license in social work, from the Texas State Board of Social Work. During the spring of 2005 I received the Distinguished Master's Student Award for the department of counseling from my professors at Texas A&M Commerce University. I am currently in my final semester of course work at Texas A&M Commerce. I will graduate in December of 2005, with my Master's degree in school counseling. After graduation in December I plan to continue my education to obtain my L.P.C. (License Professional Counselor) and R.P.T. (Registered Play Therapist).
I enjoy my job here at Marvin Elementary, and I want to assist any of our parents to the best of my ability. If you need to speak with me for any reason, please feel free to contact me by phone or email to set up an appointment.
